The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Anyone interested in being an "admin"?

By admin, all I really mean is giving you the ability to vote on what can be submitted into the featured folder. Plus, your icon gets plastered on the front page so you get to look important. Go you!

The past few months, it seems most of our current admins have either fallen off the grid or possibly internet died. I can't blame them of course as my own access to the internet has pretty much been limited to what I can do on my phone while on breaks at work and behind the wheel of my car (when I'm avoiding pedestrians, usually). I vote when I can, but it isn't enough and, sadly, quite a few submissions expire before they can be properly voted on.

So, I ask. Is anyone interested?

You must be active on DeviantArt, plus I'll be checking on your activity involving the group. That way, I won't be merely accepting dumbasses who agree to help vote and just never do anything after. Anyone I accept will be on "probation" and I'll be monitoring what you vote on. If I feel your opinion of ugly isn't up to OP standards, don't be surprised if I demote you suddenly. And without consulting you first. Because why.

Please, don't expect a response right away though. I'm a busy man with many bitches to put in place on a daily basis, but I'll get to you when I have free time between my arduous love making sessions.

I had issues with a dead computer, no money, getting fired, and I'm so strapped for cash I'm doing medical experiments for money yay opiates. Things still aren't worked out but I feel really bad and just wanted to put this here.
